Imagine a "Punk" Compilation with Huey Lewis And The News, Culture Club (Yes, Boy George), Eurythmics, The Human League...
What a joke!
Huey Lewis, punk rock icon or old fart?
If you talk about anti-etablishment punk rockers, you can't be far away from it. Imagine the poor kid who settted some money aside to buy his CD or cassette. Attracted by the PUNK album art cover, he would buy it and become the laughing stock of his school.
Those two wig-wearing jackasses have no idea what punk is.
Dear David Geffen, Hi my name is Kurt Cobain, Im the lead singer, guitar, and songwriter for the band NIRVANA. Supposedly, I've made your company a lot of money. Oh well, it never was a goal of mine to be part of the mainstream corporate world, but once I entered it I realized that there are other employees especially at DGC who are as honest and sincere about music and have basically the same values as I have. I've never met you I guess because Ive never wanted to. Kind of a big boss phobia of mine but something so severely defremating [sic] towards my family has come up in an article in Vanity Fair that has forced me to decide on breaking up my band. The article suggests that Courtney and I have been taking heroin continuously throughout her pregnancy which is not true. Courtney found out she was pregnant within the first month of our drug binge. She stopped using and has since been visiting Danny Goldberg's pediatrician on a regular basis. The doctors prognosis is that our child is in excellent health and theres no need to worry about anything. But this article has outright accused my wife of all kinds of hideously vile things to the point where Ive never seen such a crucifixion in a magazine. The woman's entire objective was to harm Courtney and now after you read the article (I hope) something may be done about it. You may not even be aware that Courtney's band Hole is also on DGC. They are a very important band to be heard especially my wife's openness and embrace of women's rights and homosexuality. This person who wrote the article Lynn Hirschberg must have her karma broken. Some way. Its either her or me. I love my wife and soon to be new daughter too much to let everyones low opinions of us ruin our lives together. I am now in rehab going on 18 days and Im really looking forward to having a family at this point fuck NIRVANA. Ive never admitted to using drugs in articles because I don't want my fans to do the same. We are capable of displaying a healthy attitude before our audience and the next record is easily as good as the last one, but Im so extremely pissed off about this piece of trash journalism that I'll lay anything on the line for the love of my wife and daughter. Sincerely Kurt Cobain." Obviously Kurt Cobain never left Nirvana since he died in April 5, 1994 and the above letter was written in 1992. Was it another self-destructive / self-sabotage attempt or just a way to get the head of Lynn Hirschberg?
MOSCOW DEATH BRIGADE is a hardcore/rap band from Russia, combining hip hop rhymes and beats, punk/metal instrumentals and political/social lyrics. The band itself refers to their music as "Circle Pit hip-hop" or "hardcore hip-hop".
MDB has become one of the most active Russian antifascist bands, opposing all kinds of discrimination and fascism, organizing and taking part in benefit events and spreading the word of unity. The Russian and English lyrics deal with anti-fascism and are socio-critical. Topics include "police brutality, violence, mass media propaganda, social prejudice and conscription". MDB shows usually attract all kinds of representatives of subcultures: from punx, skinheads and metalheads to hip hop kids, graffiti writers and football hooligans, demonstrating that all of us are the parts of the same worldwide underground movement, based on friendship, mutual support and freedom. MDB appears masked with balaclavas. The identities of the two rappers and the DJ are still kept secret. In their music videos, the group often shows themselves spraying graffiti on trains or houses. The band sees itself as a collective to artist friends, including sprayer, concert organizers and political activists. But ironically, the band does not consider itself a political band and claims that their views are just "human". This song is an happy blend of techno, rap & punk!!! Which sound good!
The next few songs are fuckin' hardcore and metal!!!
This one is particularly techno & electro and good!

Never mind, The Exploited are and will forever be one of my favorite bands of all time. Actually, they are my third favorite band ever! In fact, as a rebellious teenager, me thinking that The Exploited were a nazi punk band was part of their appeal. Their thrash metal sound, their street punk look, their rebellious lyrics... The Exploited was/is the total package in what a punk band should be. With a song like 'Hitler's In The Charts Again' and seeing a young Wattie Buchan wearing a Sid Vicious swastika shirt on the cover of "Troops Of Tomorrow". It wasn't that hard to believe that The Exploited were nazi punk.

Here is STRAIGHT EDGE explained by another excellent video from Finn, the one man army behind The Punk Rock MBA. By the way, I strongly encourage you to consult his YouTube channel full of instructive and interesting stuff. Addict energy? Jumping from one extreme to the other? Oups! I plead guilty! Instead that now, just like Finn, I channel my energy into something positive and constructive instead of self-destructive. You should be proud to be or to become a Straight Edge. Choosing health and positivity instead of miserability and self-destruction.
